The Virginia Region of the NSS (VAR) consists of all the caving clubs in Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia and small parts of North Carolina and Tennessee. The VAR hosts regional meeting each spring and fall. These are weekend camping events with led and self-guided cave trips, dinner on Saturday, a party and usually a program on Saturday evening, and sometimes cave-gear vendors. The meetings are great ways to see new caves, meet other cavers, and have an enjoyable weekend.
The Fall VAR Meeting will be on October 17-19 at the RASS Field Station in Bath County, Virginia (near Millboro). Details are still being worked out , but you can check the VAR website for more information at https://var.caves.org/index.php/events/fall-var.
