The Mid-Appalachian Region (MAR), an internal organization of the National Speleological Society, is group of associated caving clubs and grottos within the geographical region consisting of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and New Jersey. MAR hosts two field meets per year. There are numerous cave trips, a Saturday evening dinner, and other activities throughout the weekend. This is a camping event and a good opportunity to see some new caves, meet other cavers, and have a fun weekend.
The Fall MAR Meeting will be held at Lincoln Caverns and Whisper Rocks, Pennsylvania, about a 3-hour drive from the beltway and is being hosted by Nittany Grotto. Details are still being worked out and information will be posted at https://mar.caves.org/fieldmeets.htm.
